CA Water Quality Monitoring Council

Our Mission

  The California Water Quality Monitoring Council  The MOU was mandated by CA Senate Bill 1070 (Kehoe, 2006) and requires the boards, departments and offices within the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) and the California Natural Resources Agency to integrate and coordinate their water quality and related ecosystem monitoring, assessment, and reporting. creativity and strategy to deliver results that exceed expectations.

Indigenous Microplastics Monitoring & Human Health Init.

On June 2, 2026, the Native American Fiber Program and Stanford University’s School of Medicine (LaBeaud Labs), highlighting results from the 2025–2026 Indigenous Microplastics Research Initiative. The presentation shares Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Pomo Bear Doctor Methodology using feathered baskets, was integrated with modern scientific methods to study microplastics in atmospheric deposition, water sources, and potential human exposure.
